Sharing Strategic Opportunities of the Belt and Road Initiative and Facilitating Xingrong to Go Global–External Exchange and Investment Promotion by Tang Liangzhi Accompanied By Li Benwen in India

  For the full implementation of China’s Belt and Road initiative as well as serious practice of the “go global” requirement put forward by CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee, the People’s Government of Sichuan Province, CPC Chengdu Municipal Committee and the People's Government of Chengdu, Li Benwen, Chairman of Xingrong Group accompanied Tang Liangzhi, Secretary of CPC Chengdu Municipal Committee to conduct an active external exchange and investment promotion in India.

  In India, friendly meetings were convened for in-depth exchanges between Secretary Tang and Chief Minister of Karnataka Siddaramaiah, Minister of Urban Development & Housing Department of Jharkhand Singh, and Deputy Director of Economic Development Board of Andhra Pradesh Talanji Sangbi respectively. Besides, Tang together with Luo Zhaohui, China’s Ambassador to India, witnessed the signing of Memorandum of Cooperation between Xingrong Group and relevant enterprises based in Jharkhand and Andhra Pradesh.

  Moreover, Chairman Li also came to Hyderabad to have friendly meetings with Chowdary, Minister of State for Ministry of Science & Technology & Earth Sciences, K. T. Rama Rao (KTR), and CEO of Economic Development Board of Andhra Pradesh. There in Hyderabad, Li also visited two companies, namely CALLhealth and Sqanda. In addition, Li went to New Delhi to hold in-depth communications with Singh, Minister of Urban Development & Housing Department of Jharkhand and Talanji Sangbi, Deputy Director of Economic Development Board of Andhra Pradesh, based on which another Memorandum of Cooperation was signed.

  According to Chairman Li in his meetings with the Indian counterparts, by virtue of sister cities of Chengdu and cities like Bangalore, Xingrong Group in recent years has intensified its exchanges with relevant enterprises based in Jharkhand, Andhra Pradesh and the like, and several cooperation intentions have been reached. The signing of Memorandum of Cooperation at this time marks the profound integration of municipal state-owned enterprises in Chengdu with enterprises in countries along the Belt and Road routes as well as Xingrong’s first step towards cooperation for projects in fields like water affairs and environment protection in India. Li looked forward to continuous supports from the local governments of India for Xingrong’s engaging in water affairs and environment protection related constructions in India, so as to further enhance cooperation between the two parts and accelerate implementation of projects.

  Leaders like Siddaramaiah expressed their willingness to support Chengdu and Indian local governments to enhance their cooperation. They hoped that Xingrong Group and other Chinese enterprises could support India’s urban development with their abundant experience in infrastructure construction as well as operation and management, bidding to intensify cooperation and contribute in a continuous way to the sustainable developments of India and China.
